Tomás most recent post from Ethiopia #LivelifeEthiopia has long been regarded as hell on earth for touring cyclists... Intense attention, people everywhere to the point you can't find a place to piss, stone throwing, begging, abuse, constantly being over charged for bring a foreigner.... Yes all that isn't nice, but I'm still loving my time here! I've had some bad experiences, but I can tolerate a lot of crap. Rather then let Ethiopia win & get the better of me as it has done with so many other cyclists, instead I'm focusing on the positives like Mara House Luxor told me to do!... Which is the great coffee and the incredible landscapes! The rolling terrain and hills suit me perfectly - this is the cycling I dream of! So no matter what I get thrown at me (stones and a bottle of water to date), or narrowly avoiding being lashed with a cow whip, nothing can take the enjoyment away from me of cycling these brilliant roads. The hills are my home - it's like being in Ireland again. No stone throwing kid or anyone will take that away from me! I've a lot of cycling left in this country & the only thing that will get me through it is remaining positive - I also like to shout random things back at the kids. Anything from Amharic words (national language) to "I love you", it's a fun game! Most of the time the people just want to be acknowledged - a friendly wave or hello with a smile goes a long way! So yeah - so far I've really enjoyed my time in Ethiopia. It really is a beautiful country to cycle in :) #ardorothar @ Bahir Dar ...
